Sunday 2nd January 2011 As is our normal practice the first Sunday in January was a walk of four and a half miles. Eleven members started from Kettleburgh Chequers Pub at 10-05AM, It was cold but above freezing making for an enjoyable walk. We followed footpaths and farm tracks, with only the occasional patch of muddy ground. We finished back at the pub at 12-15PM where a table had been set aside for us to enjoy a drink and a meal. 
Sunday 6th February 2011 Eight members met in the Bridge Wood car park at the Orwell Country Park for the last of the series of Winter Walks that we have in place of Tandem Rides in Dec, Jan, & Feb. The weather was mild compared to what we have come to expect lately, although the wind was very strong once we had left the shelter of the woods. After the finish of the walk, which was about 4 miles we adjourned to the nearby Raven Public House for refreshments. 
Sunday 6th March 2011 Five tandems together with one solo cycle left Bramford Picnic site and soon left the busy roads around Ipswich by heading for Bramford Tye. Quiet roads were followed through Elmsett and Whatfield. We went down to the ford but only Alan and Sue were brave enough to cycle through. Soon after this we were at the 'brunch' stop at Hollowtrees Farm Centre. Riders enjoyed a cuppa and cake in the warm before some spent a while having a spend up in the shop. The return route was via Naughton, Offton and Somersham. This was a little busier but still a pleasant ride for all 
Regret health problems have prevented me from devoting as much time to keeping the website as updated as I would have liked. However club activities have continued, as shown by the above photographs. |
